When someone reaches out to Usikimye in distress because of violence, our Salama Program immediately steps in to offer a lifeline. "Salama" means "peace" and "safety" in Swahili, and that's exactly what this program aims to provide from the very first call for help.

The Salama Program is designed to give survivors complete care to help them heal and rebuild their lives. We start by making sure they are safe, offering a secure place to stay. We also provide important medical help, guide them through the legal process, and offer emotional and mental support every step of the way.
