Fun and skills


Every Saturday afternoon, at Soweto Social Hall , Scribbles and Stories Saturday a continuing collaborative program by Usikimye and Watoto Wasome Organisation, dedicated to enriching the lives of children in in our community. Designed for children aged 3 to 13 in these areas, the program blends art, music, engaging literacy lessons from Watoto Wasome, and crucial age-appropriate lessons focused on safety and GBV awareness.

Recognizing the ongoing educational disparities in underserved communities, this program continues to provide vital supplementary learning and creative outlets.

Art

Children are engaging in hands-on activities that encourage creativity and self-expression through various mediums.

Music

They are exploring sounds, rhythms, and songs, fostering an appreciation for music and developing auditory skills.

Literacy - With Watoto Wasome

Experienced educators from Watoto Wasome Organisation, who specialize in supporting children in underserved areas, are providing tailored lessons to build reading, writing, and comprehension skills.

Safety & GBV Awareness​

Facilitators are leading age-appropriate, child-friendly lessons designed to promote safety, understanding of boundaries, and awareness of GBV in a supportive manner

Experienced facilitators from both organizations continue to create a nurturing and inclusive space where children from these communities learn, create, grow, and gain valuable knowledge about their safety and well-being. Join us every Saturday afternoon for ongoing holistic learning and fun, specifically designed to address the needs of children in Soweto, Kayole, and their environs.
